Environmental assessment of recycled glass aggregates in reinforced concrete

The sustainability of the concrete industry is in jeopardy due to use natural resources which impacts environment. A swift shift towards sustainable thinking required considering emergency triggered by human activity on climate. Glass (GC) has sparked curiosity construction owing its environmentally friendly approach. This article examines environmental implications partially replacing aggregates with recycled glass aggregate at various percentages i.e. 10%, 25%, 50%, and 75% then compared controlled specimen (CC). assessment indicated 287 kgCO2Eq were generated for control (CC), whereas 20% (GA) resulted 258 kgCO2Eq. global warming potential. Likewise, M25 was reported have 1.68 kgCFC-11Eq 1.85 concrete. Even though demonstrates lower values several effects, there need improvement impact categories including acidification respiratory organics.
